When asked on the set of the film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (1962), in which she played an aging child film star, if her dressing room was adequate (her co-star Joan Crawford, a real-life femme fatale, had complained constantly during the shoot about her own room), replied, without missing a beat, "Acting isn't about dressing rooms."
